Now in Beta: Upload Full-Length Videos Directly to Spotify

Share live performances, studio sessions, covers, and official music videos directly to Spotify.
June 17, 2026

Video is becoming a bigger part of how fans discover and experience music on Spotify.

Over the last year, full-length videos on Spotify have helped artists reach new listeners and bring fans closer to the music they love.

That's why we're rolling out full-length video uploads in beta on Spotify for Artists. Starting today, artists in the beta will be able to upload live performances, studio sessions, covers, and official music videos — all of which are royalty-bearing and may be chart-eligible — directly to Spotify.

When Fans Stream Full-Length Videos, They Listen More

Over the last year, labels and distributors have been able to release music videos on Spotify, giving us a chance to see what happens when fans stream videos alongside the music they already love, not disconnected from it.

One thing we've seen consistently is that streaming videos leads to more listening.

After streaming a video, listeners stream that song 64% more often over the following three weeks on average. They're also 1.4x more likely to save it, share it, or add it to a playlist. And they go on to stream the rest of your catalog 57% more during that same period.

Your biggest fans go even further.

Super listeners—your biggest monthly active listeners—stream your music 62% more over the following three weeks, on average, following a video stream on Spotify. That’s more than an hour and forty minutes of additional listening time.

And because full-length music videos are royalty-bearing, artists can earn from the video itself as well as the listening that follows.

That's a big part of why we're investing more in full-length music video and making it easier for artists to get videos onto Spotify.

Introducing Video Uploads in Spotify for Artists

Starting today, artists participating in the beta can upload full-length videos directly in Spotify for Artists. If you already deliver videos through your label or distributor, you can continue doing so. Tens of thousands of artists in the beta now also have the option to upload directly, making creating a video, getting it onto Spotify, and putting it in front of fans faster than ever.

We’re also making it easier for fans to discover your videos wherever they’re already listening.

Once uploaded, your videos can show up in places like:

They can also be found on Home, release pages, in the Now Playing view, and through fan push notifications.

What You Can Upload at Launch

To start, we're focused on videos tied directly to a specific song or release. If you’re in the beta, you can upload:

  • Live performances
  • Acoustic or studio sessions
  • Covers
  • Official music videos

For example, Hazlett uploaded a live performance video of “Blame the Moon”, We Three dropped their cover of “Drops of Jupiter” and Bebe Rexha shared the official music video for “Hysteria.”

A few things to keep in mind: For the best viewing experience, upload videos in landscape (16:9) format. Visualizers, lyric videos, multi-song concerts, and videos without music are not currently supported. You now have the option to upload directly in Spotify for Artists. Delivery through labels and distributors remains the primary delivery path for audio and video music content on Spotify.

Once your video is uploaded, we'll automatically create short-form previews for use across Spotify, so there's nothing extra you need to do.

What This Means for Clips

Clips opened the door for artists to upload video directly on Spotify, giving them a way to share short-form video with fans.

Now, as artists get access to full-length video uploads in Spotify for Artists, we're evolving that experience into something even more powerful: full-length video tied directly to your music, royalty-bearing, and chart-eligible.

To support this next chapter of video on Spotify, we'll be ending support for new Clips uploads.

Any Clips you've already uploaded will remain available. Over time, the Clips tab on your artist profile will transition to the Video tab, which will become the home for both music videos and previously uploaded Clips.

Artists can also continue using countdown videos within Countdown Pages to tease new music, share behind-the-scenes footage, and give fans a glimpse into the world they're building for an upcoming album.
